Week-At-A-Glance

This Week (Senior Night & BOA San Antonio)

• Tuesday, 10/31: Rehearsal 4:00-7:00pm
• Glenn Band "Trunk or Treat" (all band parent/families are invited to participate): bring over some candy for the Grizzly Band! Will be held in parking lot from 7:00-8:00pm
• Wednesday, 11/1: Rehearsal 4:00-6:00pm
• Thursday, 11/2: Rehearsal 4:00-7:00pm
• Friday, 11/3: BOA San Antonio & Senior Night Football (click for itinerary)
• BOA San Antonio performance time is 4:30pm
• After our performance, seniors will load and depart immediately for Bible Stadium
• Senior Ceremony for band members will occur at halftime
• Additional senior night details will be shared this week
• Band will join at the game as soon as possible
• Saturday, 11/4: BOA San Antonio Finals
• We will attend the finals contest in San Antonio
• We will depart from GHS early afternoon and will return late in the evening

• End of 2023 Competitive Marching Band Season

Next Week

• Football Playoffs Begin
• Playoff schedule will be shared as soon as it is available if the football team advances

UIL 5A Area Marching Contest

Congratulations to the Grizzly Band for their 5th Place Finals finish at the Area Marching Contest this past weekend! The band has improved tremendously over the past few weeks and we are SO proud of all of the band students for their hard work. When we left the field after Finals the students' reaction was full of joy - they felt great about their performance and their hard work has been rewarded. Now we set our sites on BOA San Antonio and the final week of our 2023 competitive marching band season!

Spring Trip - Sign Up Now!

Thank you to all of those who have signed up for our Spring Trip this year!

So far we have only a handful of people sign up for our "band vacay". The Grizzly Band hasn't been on a spring trip in a LONG time (since 2019, to be exact!). You won't want to miss it! See more details below.

The Grizzly Band is beach-bound in Port Aransas/Corpus Christi!!!

We're excited to announce our optional but highly encouraged Spring Trip to Port Aransas! This is going to be a relaxing and fun time to unwind and spend time together after our UIL performances. We'll be spending 4 days and 3 nights at the El Constante beachside condominiums and enjoying the beach!

Seniors will also be getting a special senior golf cart outing!

Truck-or-Treat w/ the Grizzly Band!

Since we'll be having rehearsal on October 31st this year, we thought it would be fun to offer up a "Truck or Treat" for our Grizzly Band students after rehearsal from 7:00-7:50pm!

Setup will be from 6:00-7:00pm during rehearsal in the student parking lot directly across from the band pad.

All parents are invited to come by and hand out some candy to our favorite trick-or-treaters as they finish up rehearsal - we would love to get a big crowd of Grizzly Band families there to hand out some treats to our hard-working and candy-deserving kiddos.
