Hello, Glenn Band Fans!
What a week we just had in the Grizzly Band. See below for some really special GPRs (Glenn Personal Records)... Congratulations to our STATE CHAMPION Indoor Percussion, and to all of our Bands for UIL SWEEPSTAKES! What a week to be a Grizzly!
Our Spring Trip meeting will take place tomorrow at 6:30 PM in the GHS Union. Students and one parent per student are required to attend this meeting.
Keep Monday, April 22nd on your calendar as well for our 2024 Marching Band Informational Meeting & Show Reveal @ 7:15 PM. This is required for 2024-2025 GHS band students plus one parent per family.

"GPRs" (Glenn Personal Records)
GPRs are a way to track of progress that the Grizzly Band is making every week. We don't get a chance to tell you about the little "PRs" that are being set all the time in our band program, and these little details go a long way. After all, "excellence is in the details"!
GPRs this week:
GLENN INDOOR PERCUSSION - STATE CHAMPIONS (BACK-TO-BACK)!
This weekend the Glenn Indoor Percussion wrapped up an undefeated season at the TCGC State Champions, where they were named the 2024 Scholastic Open Class State Champions!
The production of "Zarkana" was a sight to behold. We are beyond proud of the Grizzly Band students- percussionists, Gems, and wind players - who brought this one-of-a-kind production to life!
To all of the student performers, the parents who devoted hundreds of hours behind the scenes to help, and the staff who poured their passion into this show and program, THANK YOU.
Congratulations to our BACK-TO-BACK STATE CHAMPION Indoor Percussion!

Hello Glenn Gems Community!
Please check your emails for correspondence from Coach later this week with any Gems upcoming news & events.
The band directors are seeking a few Gems to help us at our first-ever Young Artists Contest Finals on April 2nd. We would love for our Gems to join us at this event, where our best band soloists will be performing at the Don Tew PAC at LHS for the rest of the band students. We are specifically hoping that some Gems would be able to help us to pass out programs to our family members for this concert! Please let Mr. Fig or Ms. Muckleroy know if you would be interested in helping, we would love to see our Gems join us for this first-ever event!

GLENN BANDS SWEEP UIL CONCERT & SIGHT READING!
This past week the Glenn Bands finished our UIL journey with three stunning performances and straight Division I - Superior ratings! This earns the Glenn Band the Sweepstakes trophy for 2024!
This is the first time that GHS has brought three concert bands to UIL (a Glenn record), and the first time that three GHS Bands have brought home Division I ratings (another Glenn record). Congratulations to all of our band students for this wonderful recognition of their hard work and for upholding our band motto - "Excellence is Our Standard"!
