Hello, Glenn Band Fans!
Thank you to everyone who attended our Pre-UIL Concert this past week. We hope that you enjoyed the program, and that you will be able to come and watch the concerts on April 9th and 10th in the Leander HS Performing Arts Center. Our students are working so very hard, and a large crowd is always encouraging for the students and community. If you are able to attend the concerts, we would love your support in the audience!
This week we dig in for our final week of preparation before the UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Evaluations on April 9th and 10th, and Indoor Percussion gets ready for the TCGC Area Contest.
As always, your continued encouragement and support at home of your student in the Grizzly Band goes a long way. The more you can encourage your students to practice at home during these days leading up to UIL, the better.
This week all of our bands will continue to push and prepare for the end of our "marathon journey" that is the road to UIL.
Be on the lookout for more information about a Spring Trip meeting coming up before our trip on April 18th; a final itinerary will be released to all families very soon.
Musically Yours,
The Glenn Band Staff
GPRs are a way to track of progress that the Grizzly Band is making every week. We don't get a chance to tell you about the little "PRs" that are being set all the time in our band program, and these little details go a long way. After all, "excellence is in the details"!
GPRs this week:
This past week the Glenn Bands made history as the Glenn Symphonic Band took to the stage for their first-ever Pre-UIL performance in the GHS band program. As the Grizzly Band continues to grow, we are exceptionally proud of these students for their hard work to prepare for this concert before they represent GHS at UIL on April 9th. This will be the first time that Glenn HS brings three bands to the UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Evaluation. Congratulations to all of these awesome students for this GPR!

Hello Glenn Gems Community!
We have a light week! We will be reviewing Gala footage (provided by GHS AV teacher Keaton Anderson) during class on Tuesday. On Thursday, we will resume our flag and dance technique training.
Please make sure all costumes are hand-washed and air-dried, ready to be returned tomorrow.

Evaluation schedules for this year's UIL have been released. This will be the first time that the Glenn Band will be taking THREE bands to the UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Evaluation!
The full schedule is attached below. All performances will take place at the Don Tew Performing Arts Center (at Leander High School).
If you are able to, please join us at LHS for this event. This will be the capstone of many months of preparation, and we would love to see you there!
GRIZZLIES ON THE BEACH (Band Spring Trip) - April 18-21st
We haven't had a full-band spring trip in quite some time at GHS (since 2019, in fact). Our band students have earned some beach time!
Parents: this trip is a fun getaway for the kids where they will be staying in villas with a group of roommates. There is a lot of free time where the kids will be able to relax at the villas or on the beach! They will also be doing a lot of cooking at their villas as a group; this may sound scary but former students have had a great time on these kinds of trips. This is a favorite trip for other LISD bands and we're excited to finally offer this trip to our Grizzly Band!
Additional details for registering can be found below. Sign up today!
The Grizzly Band is beach-bound in Port Aransas/Corpus Christi!!!
Students, it's time to relax and enjoy the beach in Port Aransas! This is going to be a fun time to unwind and spend time together after our UIL performances. We'll be spending 4 days and 3 nights at the El Constante beachside condos where you'll be staying in resort-style villas with a group of your band buds! Seniors, you will also be getting a special senior golf cart outing!
