WEKKLY ANNOUNCEMENTS!
Hello Glenn Band Students & Families,
It's hard to believe that we're nearly to the end of 2023! There has been a LOT to celebrate with our band program this past week, and more to look forward to as we head towards the new year with a bang.
This week we present our December Concert, "Around the Fireplace"! The doors will open and our Silent Auction will begin at 5:00 PM for families, and our concert will begin at 6:00 PM. We will have our holiday tradition of "Section Cakes" after the concert ends with a 30 minute countdown to vote and bid for your favorite cake. This is always a fun and special event for our kids, we hope you will all vote and bid for your favorite cake!
As always, please see below for more information about this week and our winter concert, as well as information about upcoming fundraisers.
At this busy time of the year, we would like to take a moment to give our thanks to the entire Glenn Band community. The band hall has been vibrant and buzzing over the past several weeks and it has been a joy to see so much happening inside of our band hall every day. We hope that everyone has a chance to rest, spend time with loved ones, recover, and PRACTICE over the winter break! :)
Musically Yours,
The Glenn Band Staff
"GPRs" (Glenn Personal Records)
GPRs are a way to track of progress that the Grizzly Band is making every week. We don't get a chance to tell you about the little "PRs" that are being set all the time in our band program, and these little details go a long way. After all, "excellence is in the details"!

GRIZZLIES ON THE BEACH (Band Spring Trip) - April 18-21st
We haven't had a full-band spring trip in quite some time at GHS (since 2019, in fact). Our band students have earned some beach time!
Parents: this trip is a fun getaway for the kids where they will be staying in villas with a group of roommates. There is a lot of free time where the kids will be able to relax at the villas or on the beach! They will also be doing a lot of cooking at their villas as a group; this may sound scary but former students have had a great time on these kinds of trips. This is a favorite trip for other LISD bands and we're excited to finally offer this trip to our Grizzly Band!
Additional details for registering can be found below. Sign up today!
The Grizzly Band is beach-bound in Port Aransas/Corpus Christi!!!
Students, it's time to relax and enjoy the beach in Port Aransas! This is going to be a fun time to unwind and spend time together after our UIL performances. We'll be spending 4 days and 3 nights at the El Constante beachside condos where you'll be staying in resort-style villas with a group of your band buds! Seniors, you will also be getting a special senior golf cart outing!
Details & registration info can be found below - sign up now!
