What a week! This newsletter will be brief as we're all tired after a long but incredible weekend. Y'all are superstars!
We finished up WGI just a few hours ago, and what a show it was. The WGI staff was thrilled with our GHS community once again, and they are looking forward to seeing us next year! To all of the students, parents, relatives, siblings, and friends that volunteered - thank you for making this event a huge success for Glenn and the Grizzly Band!

As we head towards Spring Break, please come out to see the Danielson Wind Ensemble at their Music for All National Festival Send-Off Concert this Thursday (GHS Aud @ 7:00pm), come to support our Indoor Percussion this weekend at the Vista Ridge Contest, and be sure that March 23rd is on your calendar to see our Gems at their first ever Gems Gala!

"GPRs" (Glenn Personal Records)
GPRs are a way to track of progress that the Grizzly Band is making every week. We don't get a chance to tell you about the little "PRs" that are being set all the time in our band program, and these little details go a long way. After all, "excellence is in the details"!
GPRs this week:
INDOOR PERCUSSION WINS WGI DEBUT!
This past Saturday our Glenn Indoor set another Glenn HS record! The Indoor Percussion brought "Zarkana" to Dallas for our first-ever WGI performance, and the group took home First Place with a score of 84.00 in the WGI Dallas Regional! This is a HUGE deal for GHS and our Grizzly Band program - these outstanding students, staff, and parents are now on the National and International stage! BRAVO!

GRIZZLIES ON THE BEACH (Band Spring Trip) - April 18-21st
We haven't had a full-band spring trip in quite some time at GHS (since 2019, in fact). Our band students have earned some beach time!
Parents: this trip is a fun getaway for the kids where they will be staying in villas with a group of roommates. There is a lot of free time where the kids will be able to relax at the villas or on the beach! They will also be doing a lot of cooking at their villas as a group; this may sound scary but former students have had a great time on these kinds of trips. This is a favorite trip for other LISD bands and we're excited to finally offer this trip to our Grizzly Band!

The Grizzly Band is beach-bound in Port Aransas/Corpus Christi!!!
Students, it's time to relax and enjoy the beach in Port Aransas! This is going to be a fun time to unwind and spend time together after our UIL performances. We'll be spending 4 days and 3 nights at the El Constante beachside condos where you'll be staying in resort-style villas with a group of your band buds! Seniors, you will also be getting a special senior golf cart outing!
