Hello, Glenn Band Fans!
Hello, Glenn Band Families!
It was so nice to see everyone at our April meeting last week. We hope that you enjoyed the announcement of our 2024 marching band show, "City Cycle". We can't wait to start working on it!
Last week we hosted our "Young Artist Contest Prelims", and we heard some truly outstanding performances! We were so proud of all of the students - everyone was well-prepared and played very well! From all of the Glenn Band, the judges selected the very top students from each room to advance to our first-ever Finals contest, which takes place this week!
Our first-ever Glenn Band Young Artist Contest Finals will take place this Thursday, May 2nd at 7:00 PM at the Don Tew Performing Arts Center (Leander HS). As a reminder, all band students are expected to attend this event. We are also asking for students to wear business attire (something they would wear to church or an interview) - no jeans please! This is a big event - these are the "best of the best" in a very competitive prelims, and we want to properly celebrate these musicians!
As a reminder, please continue to look at the Band Calendar for the end of our year. We have concerts and events all the way until the last day of school. More event information for the end of the year will be shared as it becomes available, so please keep your eyes out for any band emails!

"GPRs" (Glenn Personal Records)
GPRs are a way to track of progress that the Grizzly Band is making every week. We don't get a chance to tell you about the little "PRs" that are being set all the time in our band program, and these little details go a long way. After all, "excellence is in the details"!
GPRs this week:
YOUNG ARTIST CONTEST FINALS - THURSDAY, MAY 2ND - YOU ARE INVITED!
Out of all of our band students, these 11 student musicians stood out as the best in their rooms on the night of our YAC Prelims. A huge CONGRATULATIONS to these students!
All band students are expected to attend our first-ever YAC Finals. If a student is not able to attend, please email Ms. Muckleroy to request an absence. This is a business attire event.
Parents, you are also invited and we hope that you will join us to celebrate these 11 student musicians!

Hello Glenn Gems Community!
Please check your emails for correspondence from Coach later this week with any Gems upcoming news & events.
The band directors are seeking a few Gems to help us at our first-ever Young Artists Contest Finals on MAY 2nd (not April, that was a typo)! We would love for our Gems to join us at this event, where our best band soloists will be performing at the Don Tew PAC at LHS for the rest of the band students. We are specifically hoping that some Gems would be able to help us to pass out programs to our family members for this concert! Please let Mr. Fig or Ms. Muckleroy know if you would be interested in helping, we would love to see our Gems join us for this first-ever event!

LETTER JACKET FITTINGS - TUESDAY, APRIL 30TH!
Letter jacket fittings will take place this Tuesday, April 30th at 7:30 AM in the Dance Gym.
The band directors have been speaking to the students about this over the past couple of weeks, so students should already know if they have earned a letter in band. The only students who may have earned additional points are students who made the YAC Finals.
Parents, this is for the letter jacket FITTINGS ONLY. Students will bring home a packet to be completed and returned to the band office.
