Hello, Glenn Band Fans!
Last week we were blown away by our first-ever Young Artist Contest Finalist performances! All eleven of our finalists showcased incredible preparation, poise, and musicianship on stage. Thank you to everyone in our community who attended to support these talented musicians. They will always have the honor of being the first-ever finalists in the Glenn Band Young Artist Contest!
This week we look forward to our 2023-2024 Band Banquet on Wednesday, May 8th at Reunion Ranch. This is the first time we are holding the band banquet off campus, and we hope you will join us! Remember, today is the last day to purchase banquet tickets. See below for more information.
This Saturday the GHS Percussion Studio will also hold their “Day of Percussion” Concert. See below for details.
As we head towards the end of the year, please note that the band program does not slow down. We have events all the way through the final day of school and graduation, so please check the Band Calendar for upcoming events. We have also recently updated the calendar to include anticipated fall marching band shows and football games for the 2024 season for your preliminary planning.
We look forward to seeing everyone at our final events of the year!

"GPRs" (Glenn Personal Records)
GPRs are a way to track of progress that the Grizzly Band is making every week. We don't get a chance to tell you about the little "PRs" that are being set all the time in our band program, and these little details go a long way. After all, "excellence is in the details"!
GPRs this week:
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR FIRST-EVER GLENN BAND YAC FINALISTS!
Last year we held our first Young Artist Contest in the Glenn Band program. The goal of the event was to empower students to prepare and perform a solo on their instrument, and to allow students to perform in an environment that would allow them to receive feedback from a panel of talented judges. This year we added the next step of the YAC project and held our first-ever YAC Finals. The goal of this event was to encourage a higher level of preparation from all students, and to reward the highest-rated performers with an opportunity to perform in an Honors Recital setting for our entire band program.
A huge CONGRATULATIONS to Nevaeh, Jesse. Jenae, Braeden, Nahum, Andrew, Kamdyn, Evan, Nora, Wren, and Robert! These phenomenal musicians will always have the honor of being one of the first-ever GHS YAC Finalists!

TICKET SALES END TODAY FOR THE 2023-2024 BAND BANQUET!
This will be the first time that the Glenn Band will be holding our banquet in a banquet hall, and we are so excited to head to Reunion Ranch this Wednesday, May 8th at 6:00 PM! This has been a goal for the past few years and I'm so excited for our students to come together and celebrate a wonderful year in the Grizzly Band.

SAVE THE DATE: DAY OF PERCUSSION - SAT, MAY 11th
Join the Glenn Percussion for a true "Day of Percussion" this Saturday!
The concert will take place at 6:00 PM in the GHS Competition Gym.
Percussion Families, here is some additional information from Mr. Gall for percussion students:
- Friday: Dress rehearsal after school for all percussionists and indoor students. Dismissal time TBD. Students should plan to have a dinner/snack brought to them at the 3:35 dismissal bell.
- Saturday: Details will be relayed in an email from Mr. Gall this week. Students will need to remain available and flexible for the entire day.

- Mon, Tue, Thu; May 13th, 14th, 16th - 2024 Marching Band Spring Camp (4:45-7:15 PM)
- Wed, May 15th - Registration Night (5:00-8:00 PM, GHS Band Hall)
- Thu, May 16th - 2024 Marching Band Show Debut (7:30 PM, GHS Comp. Gym)
- Mon, May 20th - Spring Concert (6:00 PM, GHS Auditorium)
- Fri, May 24th - Graduation Band (Graduation from 12:00-2:00 PM, itinerary TBA)
- Note: Grad Band includes all students from the top two bands
