Region Contest Wraps Up with a "Superior" Performance!

Glenn Band Fans,

We just got back from our Region 32 Marching Contest and we're happy to report that your 2022 Glenn Band has brought home straight "1 - Superior" ratings!

We have a lot to celebrate this week in the Glenn Band. First of all, we made it through perhaps the most "boot camp" week of Bandtober that the Glenn Band has ever experienced. Last week was TOUGH. It took a lot of grit and determination to get through last week, but we did it and everyone should be very proud. To turn around and then perform at Region today required a lot of us to "dig deep"; your efforts are noticed, gang. It's tough to be in Texas marching band, but under that heat and pressure we can and will come out stronger.

Second, we wrapped up our March-a-Thon ("Boost Blitz") fundraiser last week and it was a HUGE success! In only our second year of this fundraiser, we raised $54,654.83! This was a PHENOMENAL effort from everyone, so thank you for your support to help the Glenn Band!

This week we return to somewhat "normal" band life, other than an awesome trip to College Station for a big-time football game this Friday!

We climbed over the biggest hurdle of our season and very likely entire year last week. As we head towards the final part of our marching season, let's continue to strive for excellence and encourage each other as a band family. All of our LISD bands are going through the same push and challenges, so we need to band together and rise up to finish this season strong!

March-a-Thon ("Boost Blitz 2022"): FINAL RESULTS

The results are in, and in year TWO of our fundraiser, we raised a total of $54,654.83!!!

This is an absolutely incredible finish for us, and is a massive success for our band program. THANK YOU for all of your support - it truly means the most to our growing band program.

Here are some fun overall "stats" from this fundraiser:

"Highest Overall Section Earner" (full section; whoever raised the most gets to pick a new stand tune for us to play next year):

• 3rd Place - Trombones, $6,799.31
• 2nd Place - Percussion, $9,350.00
• 1st Place - Flutes, $9,882.01!

"Highest Overall Grade Earners" (9th-12th Grade; winner gets a movie night on the Glenn Football Field w/ popcorn & snacks):

• 3rd Place - Sophomores, $12,793.50
• 2nd Place - Freshmen, $15,850.00
• 1st Place - Juniors, $18,125.01!

"1k Club" (each of these students raised $1,000 or more! Bravo!!!)
