BOA San Antonio: General Information & Itinerary

Here is our BOA San Antonio itinerary. Please check here for information about that weekend!

This is our final performance and trip of the 2022 marching season. BOA San Antonio (the Bands of America San Antonio Super Regional Championships) is a highly competitive show with a prelims and finals performance. There are 83 bands competing in prelims on Friday and Saturday, and 14 bands will advance to the finals show on Saturday evening. Lots of good bands will be there, and either way we will be there on Saturday to experience the finals show.

*NEW* BOA San Antonio: Spectator Parking & Bag Notice

Parking: Spectator parking will be available at The Alamodome for $20

Bags: A clear bag policy will be in effect at The Alamodome for the duration of the show

*NEW* BOA San Antonio: STUDENT/PARENT CHECK OUT POLICY

Student Check-Out Policy

  • If you would like to have your student stay with you in San Antonio:
  1. A parent must email a director by the end of rehearsal tomorrow, Wednesday 11/2, 6:00pm
  2. The parent must check the student(s) out with a director before leaving the band
  3. Parents, please also communicate if your student will be taking a bus back to GHS at any point from San Antonio or if they will be traveling with you back home

*NEW* BOA San Antonio: STUDENT NOT ATTENDING SATURDAY FINALS SHOW

Student Absence Request Policy

  • If your student will not be attending the Finals show on Saturday:
  1. A parent must email a director by the end of rehearsal tomorrow, Wednesday 11/2, 6:00pm
  2. This is necessary for accurate attendance and scheduling buses

*NEW* BOA San Antonio: Saturday Logistics

Students

  • Call Time @ 2:30pm
  • Please EAT BREAKFAST & LUNCH before you arrive
  • Show Shirts
  • Show Hair: Highly encouraged that show hair be done before arriving @ GHS - who will have the best show bun?!

Truck Drivers, Volunteers, Parents

  • The plan is to keep the truck loaded on Friday night, and to be on "standby" for Saturday scores
  • If we do make Finals, it will be a "hurry up and go" scenario
  • We will draw for our potential Finals time when we arrive at the show on Friday
  • We will NOT plan on the truck drivers or pit crew traveling with the band.
  • We will only call the truck drivers and a "Finals Standby Pit Crew" if we DO make Finals. Otherwise, pit crew and drivers will not be traveling with the band.
  • Realistically, the chances of us making the Finals show this year are low - but there IS a chance, and we want to be ready in case!
