Glenn Band News - Celebration and December Concert

CELEBRATIONS!!

Region Auditions were this week, and we're so proud of all of our Grizzly Band students that participated! Preparing for these auditions takes hours and hours of practice during a normal year. Most of our kids were also preparing for the Seattle WIBC concert as well - that means they had to balance WIBC, marching band, AND region preparation. That's a LOT of time management and dedication!

The Region Band process for high school is different than in middle school (there are no District Band auditions). Region Auditions take place over two days - the first day is called "Phase One" and is for large instrument groups - this year the Phase One instruments were for flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, horn, tenor trombone, tuba, and percussion students. Saturday's auditions were for the rest of the instruments and also for students that place high enough during Phase One to advance to Phase Two. We are thrilled to announce our Region Band and Area Audition students! Full results can be found HERE.

Students that have "5A AREA" by their name will advance on to the Area auditions in two weeks at Westlake High School, with a chance to audition for the TMEA All-State Band. Students with "REGION BAND - *Band Name*" will be participating in a Region Band in January at Glenn HS and/or Liberty Hill HS. Students with "DISTRICT" next to their name get district honors and a patch for their achievement. CONGRATS to all!!!
